Introducing Flickr

We are now using a web-based photo-sharing system for any photos that you would like to share with fellow 91ers.

Flickr is a free photo-sharing web site whereyou can post your photos to share and add comments to other people's photos. What makes it different is that you assign tags/keywords to the images you upload. When someone else searches on that tag/keyword, your photos will be displayed, along with those of anyone else who used the same tag. This new way of collectively identifying photos, regardless of the owner, is great for the class because anyone (not just Julianne!!) can upload images and, if we all use the same tag, we'll create a virtual photo album, without having to email images to everyone!

Here's how it works:

Flickr is free, but you have to sign up for an account if you want to post photos (anyone can view photos). Flickr was recently acquired by Yahoo, so if you have a Yahoo account (e.g., for Yahoo Groups or email), you already have a Flickr account!
With the free account, you can upload up to 1MB of photos each month
Our tags are mhc91 (for regular photos) and mhc91reunion (for reunion photos)
